ANCHOR IRON
ABOUT
OUR HISTORY
Anchor Iron Co. was started in 1953 by R.G. (Bob) Roberts, selling and installing clothes posts and wrought iron railings out of his home and barn in Bloomington, MN. His son, Jim, joined the business early as an installer. Now son Mark works full time in iron sales and manages the showroom, son Matt full time in iron manufacturing, and son Adam full time as business manager—and the fourth generation is already starting to learn the ropes.
In 1958, property was purchased and a building constructed in Savage to manufacture wrought iron railings. In the mid 1960s a small gift shop was added selling retail ironwork and decorative items. The gift shop grew and expanded, adding a complete line of fireplace equipment in the early 1970s, followed by a line of Cairn Studio collectibles and framed art in the late '70s and early ‘80s.
With the addition of custom framing and art, the shop was christened "The Country Gallery." In 1999 The Country Gallery was totally remodeled and renamed "Eagle Creek Gallery."
As we look to the future, the Roberts family takes with it the pride of having served customers with integrity and dedication for over 60 years.
